Traditionally, a crown takes two visits to your dentist. During the first visit, the tooth is shaved and prepared for the crown. An impression is taken and sent to a laboratory where the crown will be made. The CEREC process eliminates the need for a second visit or a temporary crown. Everything is completed in a single visit at the dental office. The patient’s mouth is first digitally scanned and then the crown is made by a computer while the patient waits.
