Transform Your Smile With Teeth Veneers
Porcelain dental veneers are wafer-thin, durable, shells of tooth-colored materials which cover the front surface of your teeth and improve their appearance. Teeth veneers are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size and length to create a beautiful new smile. Your new porcelain dental veneers will be custom made to match the shape and color for your smile. Dental veneers are one of the fastest ways to improve your smile and give you more confidence in your look.
Teeth Veneers Process
Getting porcelain veneers is a several step process usually requiring three trips to our restorative dentistry office: one for a consultation and two to make and apply your veneers.
We’ll need to consult with you first to determine if a dental veneer would be the best plan for your smile. Little to no anesthesia is required during this procedure. Teeth are prepared for veneers by lightly buffing and shaping the tooth surface to allow for the thickness of the veneer. An impression or mold is taken of the teeth and a tooth shade or color will be chosen by you and Dr. Martin Buchheit.
During your last visit, your teeth will be cleaned with special liquids to achieve the most durable bond. A bonding cement will then be placed between each tooth and the veneer and a special light beam is used to harden and set the bond.
You will be given care instructions for your new dental veneer. Proper brushing, flossing, and regular dental checkups will lengthen the life of your veneers.
Porcelain dental veneers are routinely used to fix:
- Teeth that are discolored—either because of root canal treatment; stains from tetracycline or other drugs, excessive fluoride, or other causes; or the presence of large resin fillings that have discolored the tooth.
- Teeth that are worn down.
- Teeth that are chipped or broken.
- Teeth that are misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped: for example, ones that have craters or bulges in them.
- Teeth that are too small or large.
- Teeth with gaps between them to close the space between these teeth.
WOW...Doc, you guys are awesome! Not only are you the best around...I would trust my teeth to no one else in town....you are thoughtful, too! What more could a patient ask for!—David H.
As with most restorative dentistry solutions, porcelain veneers are not permanent, and they may some day need to be replaced. However, they are extremely durable and will give you a beautiful, long-lasting smile for many years.
